That headline probably got the little movie screen running in many of your heads, but my topic is probably not what you are imagining from the headline. A few days ago, I went into a Spectrum convenience store in Macon. Following me into the store was a little girl of about 7 or 8 years old and a man I assume to be her grandfather. He was telling her to pick out whatever ice cream she wanted as they were coming in the door. What he couldn’t tell was that directly inside the door was the rep for the magazine distributor checking in and out the stock of porno magazines; going thru magazine stock like Playboy, Penthouse, Hustler, Club… – the porno was laid out right on top of the ice cream cooler.
What effect does the porno culture have on the mind of a young girl. Does it tell her that is the way that she should be. Parents and church can say one thing, if there is a good influence there, but everything in the world from porno, magazines, TV, music videos, and movies screams something else at these children. AND IT IS OUR FAULT!!
It is the fault of men; or at least people that call themselves men. Men who should be the protector of the young and the innocent. Our desire for this entertainment brings this entertainment about. If it wasn’t profitable to make – then no one would be making it. We need to evaluate what we ask for in our entertainment.
