Some people are a slave to their so-called freedom, but is the freedom they assume they have only act as a trap into their own bondage? You may wonder what I mean by that – how can my freedom to do something instead put me into shackles and chains? Well, let’s look at what you are free to do:
Steal
Cheat
Be Unfaithful
Get Drunk
Get High
Live your life doing anything you want
The same people that want to do the above things often complain that God wants to load them down with so many rules that they can’t enjoy their life. Look at someone that wants to be free to drink all they want. Many doing this often find themselves dependent on what they were once free to enjoy. Now, they aren’t free to choose – their body has become dependent on what was once a choice and now demands that they get it. It demands that they spend their hard-earned money on it. It demands that they do it no matter how they act while on it and no matter what it does to their relationships. Their freedom can continue on so that it eventually puts them in it’s own form of isolation – into a form of solitary with the only welcome visitors being fellow prisoners. They will put on a charade and pretend that they aren’t in a prison of their own making, but everyone that knows them knows that it is a farce.
All the while they deceive themselves that God only wants to hold them back with rules and regulations. They don’t understand that God isn’t about rules for rules sake – but only for their benefit. And unfortunately, there are imposters and the deceived that believe that the rules are what is important. God has some rules, but more importantly, He wants you to be free from your self-imposed prison. He has a plan. He has some people that are here to make a connection with you and show you who and what God really is. Some people that He has put here that know how to open up the locked doors of your cell.
Some people that are willing to show you what free really is.
(Gal 5:1) Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
