If we are serious about experiencing (I don’t like that word in this context, it has taken on some bad connontations) God then we must be willing to pursue Him. We have to desire contact.  We must be desperate in our search. BUT…

But many of us are concerned of the cost – concerned that we will give up too much, that the cost will be too great.  Not that the cost will be too great when we find him, but that we will pay the cost and fail in our quest.  We don’t want the chance of failure.  But that presupposes that our God is not big enough and that we don’t really have the faith to take God at His word.

That is a big problem in the Church – we are afraid that it might not work.  We give mouth service to revival and proclaim how it is going to happen someday in our town.  Some churches run around having yearly or better self-proclaimed revivals without ever bothering to check with God to see if He might show up.  There is no faith to go along with the empty words.

Well – my God is big enough to back up His words.  I fully expect Him to show up because we are praying for it, we need it – NO, it is getting beyond need. It is becoming a craving, a desperate people looking for their God.

But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.
(Deu 4:29)

We may seem foolish to some but it is becuse they have stopped believing that God means what He says.  Now, I am not trying to pick on you if you feel that way – but why do you still continue to believe that God can save your soul from hell but you don’t really believe He can heal you.  Both promises come from the same book.  I don’t want God having to start His next revival in a bar somewhere because His churches are too dead and too full of unbelief for anything useful to come out of them.

I expect to encounter the very presence of God – not just once but over and over and over again.  I expect that His presence will express itself in Macon, GA.  I expect that the Holy Spirit of God will infill us as it did Jesus and that we will walk in the power of God – not to lift us up – but so that God through us can touch people here. I expect God…
